Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how AprilProof ("AprilProof," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit aprilproof.com (the "Site") and join our waitlist. We care about your privacy and collect as little as possible.
Important: AprilProof is currently a pre-launch waitlist. The product is not yet available. We are not collecting payment information, bank information, or income data at this time.
1. Information we collect
- Email address — when you join the waitlist. This is the only information we require.
- Optional feedback — if you choose to tell us, in a free-text field, what frustrates you about taxes. Please do not include sensitive personal or financial details in this field.
- Basic usage analytics — we use our own first-party, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic (e.g., page views, country, referring site, device type). This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, payment card data, or income figures through this Site.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- add you to our waitlist and notify you when the product launches;
- send you occasional updates about our progress and your waitlist discount;
- understand, in aggregate, how the Site is performing and improve it;
- respond to your questions or feedback.
We rely on your consent to send you waitlist and marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 6).
3. How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and send email (for example, our email/waitlist tool and hosting provider), and only to perform those services for us;
- Legal authorities, if required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Where your data is stored
We host the Site and store waitlist data on infrastructure provided by our hosting and email vendors. Data may be processed in the country where these providers operate. We take reasonable measures to keep your data secure, including encryption in transit.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your email and feedback until the earlier of: you ask us to delete it, or we decide we no longer need it for the purposes above. If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending you emails and will retain only what is necessary to honor that request.
6. Your choices
- Unsubscribe — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, and we will honor your request promptly.
- Access / correction / deletion — you can ask us to show, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@aprilproof.com.
7. Your California privacy rights
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion of it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, email privacy@aprilproof.com. This Site's privacy practices are provided in accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).
Do Not Track: Our Site does not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals; however, we do not track you across third-party websites.
8. Your rights in the EU / UK (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Our lawful basis for sending you waitlist and marketing emails is your consent, which you give by submitting the waitlist form, and which you can withdraw at any time. 9. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK).
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist subscribers by email.
